Lake District
September 2014 took me to the Lake District for a long weekend.
On numerous occasions I had travelled back up the M9 on my way home to Scotland and took a detour through the Lakes to get off the motorway and admire the beauty but this was the 1st time I have done a stopover.
Staying at Bowness-on-Windermere was the ideal location for a couple of days. Being on the shores of Lake Windermere it gives easy access to boat trips. On the way up to Ambleside I took advantage of the opportunity to get off the boat and wander around Brockhole. Well worth the visit for views up the lake to the Langdale Pikes.
There will definitely be more trips to the Lake District for more photographic opportunities.
