Carcassonne
I got the chance to visit Carcassonne in France’s Languedoc region in June 2013.
Carcassonne consists of 2 main areas. The old-walled La Cite Medievale with its double-walled fortifications, fort, cathedral, narrow streets and great cafe scene. Stop and have a bit of lunch and watch time pass you by with one of the local wines.
The newer town has all you need in a town and is blessed with the lovely Canal du Midi running through it. It’s great to sit by the side of the canal in the sunshine and watch the canal boats slowing sailing by.
