Ayrshire

I'm lucky to have the Ayrshire scenery on my doorstep on the west coast of Scotland. The coastline looks across to the Isle of Arran and we have the famous landmark of Ailsa Craig to capture in its many lights.

Of course you can't talk about Ayrshire and not mention Scotland's Bard, Robert (Rabbie) Burns. You can visit his cottage and take photos of the Brig O' Doon made famous the Burns's Tam O' Shanter. Ayrshire is also world renowned for its links golf courses including Troon which is on the 'Open' circuit.

Isle of Arran is known as 'Scotland in miniature' due its varied landscape and coastline. A must visit. Deer can regularly be found down at the shoreline eating seaweed at Lochranza Castle. The village has a lovely distillery you can visit. A walk up Goatfell will give you stunning panoramas of the island. Added bonus it has the local brewery at the end of the walk where you can sample a number of local ales.
