In October 2014 I was able to go and see my No.1 Rugby Union team, Jed-forest RFC playing locally against Marr RFC in an away match at Troon which is close to my home. This doesn’t happen much as Jed-forest tend not to be in the same league as an Ayrshire team.
My affinity with Jed-forest stems from my father, Iain who used to run up the wing for them in the 60’s when Borders teams were some of the best prior to professionalism taking a hold on the game.
It seemed a good idea to take the camera along to the game to try an capture a few sports images. I had sent a tweet out to say i was going to the game and to wish the team all the best on behalf of myself and my father. This was picked up by the team and club officials. After contact i sent some of my images to the club and they kindly published a few of them on their gallery and match report pages on the club website.
